I'm just a nursing student at SJSU with a healthy obsession with my Zune, desserts and all things cute. I love the color yellow, but don't ask me about my lack of yellow clothing.

To summarize this past semester…

It was a bitch and it kicked my ass…and yet it’s the most fun I’ve had so far in my college career. After the feeling of accomplishment and excitement that came with my acceptance letter had evaporated during winter break, my feelings turned to anxiety as I thought about what this semester would entail. From the very beginning in that first day of the semester back in January it was clear that I was starting on the most difficult path of my academic life. I knew no one, knew nothing, and wondered if I was doing the right thing. I think it was all this uncertainty that bonded me to all of my peers. We got through some difficult and ridiculous tests, survived some professors who were absolutely delightful and some I hope to never have again, and we got through a lot of firsts. Go ahead and ask me to give you a head to toe assessment, I can do it! =] I think the best part of this semester was finally belonging to a group so well, having a sense that we’re in this together and you’ll see that on our Facebook page haha! I’ve made great friends and I haven’t felt this comradery since BAMF maybe. They’re always coming up with plans to socialize (Boiling Crab, D&B’s, beach days) and it’s cool but it would be cooler if I were 21 too. =/ We are the SJSU School of Nursing Class of Armageddon (2012 yo! =P) and our professors have dubbed us the most organized and most social of all the nursing classes. I’m glad I survived this semester but I’m even more excited for the next! I’ll finally get some real patients…scary but exciting nonetheless.

And now the summer is upon me, despite this gloomy weather! I will travel, first to Irvine with my love and visit my favorite cousins ever and go to Disneyland! Woohoo! I will work to pay for my travels and books and things…a plus and minus of summer and working at the movies is more hours but also more exhausting hours =/ I will (try) to study and get some experience under my belt with volunteer work. I will exercise because sitting on my ass reading all day doesn’t do anything for the sweets I eat when the readings stress me out! And I will finally get to mend and revive old friendships—JARRK I’m coming for y’all!!! Cheers to a summer that is (hopefully) productive and fun fun fun!
